More Magnifique Mixed Media Kit Projects with Riikka Kovasin!

Hi again! It's Riikka here with a second post to get your ideas flying with the December mixed media kit! Last time I shared some red creations and promised to share green and white this time. So let's get started!

Here's my green page. Well, it supposed to be even more green, but when I saw that old paper print in one of the papers, I just had to use it as my background. But I brought the green in with papers and embellishments!

I started by adding some of that gold mist to the background and a wreath inspired composition using a circle cut from the green paper and some of that wire from the kit. To finish the page I created a snowy mixture of white gesso and the glitter found in the kit. If you want to see step by step how the page was created, please see the video!

Besides the materials from the kit I included from my own stash a stencil, white gesso, a pencil and a black pen.

I'm a scrapbooker mostly, but these materials inspired me to do two cards as well. The other one is maybe a bit more traditional with the green-red-white coloring and the other one is more snowy with the white-cream palette.

My kit happened to have the little wooden embellishments "24" and "25" in it. So I just had to use them for the cards. My first intention was to make one with the "24" and the other with the "25" but then the other card took a turn to more monochrome palette and the red embellishment didn't fit in anymore. So the robins now have the 24 to keep them company. And to tell you the truth, in Finland it seems the 24th of December is coming more and more important , maybe even more important than the 25th. I embellished the card using the note paper and added touches of Silks paint and the micro beads in there.

Both of the cards have a sturdy background - on top of the patterned paper layer that is the backing, there's a layer created with the alpha packaging from the kit! The burlap style print on it fitted the Christmas theme wonderfully!

The white, snowy card has just a few patterned paper layers, a die cut doily shape and then the beautiful sparkling branch as the center of attention. The chipboard word also from the kit got a coat of white gesso on top and then the glitter on top of the wet paint.

In these cards I used some extra supplies from my stash like a red mist, white gesso and a doily die.
Thank you again for stopping by! Wishing you peaceful holidays!

Deonna's Time After Time Exploding Box

Hello! Deonna here today sharing an exploding box that I created with the November Time After Time Kit.

I had a lot of fun building the floral embellishment cluster on the top of the box. I was able to stack several layers of flowers, die-cuts, leaves, feathers and decorative pins into an arrangement that really makes a statement!

Lift the lid to reveal a beautiful cascade of patterned papers from the Blue Fern Studios Montage Collection.

The box folds open to lay flat and contains 3 different sized tabs that are ready for photos, journaling or further embellishing.

This piece is something that I will certainly enjoy looking at time after time! You can pick up the November Kit, the November Paper Add-On, the November Embellishment Add-On and the November Mixed Media Kit from the C'est Magnifique Store while supplies last.

Thanks for stopping by today! Please visit again tomorrow for another exciting post and video from our Guest Designer Riikka Kovasin, and again on Friday for our December Kit Reveal!

December Projects from Cathi and a Farewell

I can't believe December is nearly here and my final projects for C'est Magnifique are finished!

My first layout uses the gorgeous wood plank paper in green from the Riddersholm Country Christmas collection. I have used the vine and trim from the main kit, lots of gorgeous flowers from the Flower Add On and the great Tim Holtz Christmas word band from the Embellishment Add On. I used the mask, mists and paints from the Mixed Media Kit.

From my stash: molding paste, twine

I really had fun with this vintage layout! I layered two sheets of the gorgeous papers and made some tears and distressed my edges. I used the beautiful Blue Fern Studios Holiday Vine which I sprayed with the Lindy's Wake Me Up Before you Go Gold. I added lots of gorgeous flowers from the  Flower Add On and the spray from the Mixed Media Kit. The stickers are from the main kit.

From my stash: Shimmerz Texturez, Distress Ink

I have another layout coming soon for the December sketch, I hope you enjoyed these projects!! This will be my last post as Coordinator and DT member. I have really enjoyed my time with C'est Magnifique and will continue to watch it grow and move forward.

December Kit Projects with Dana

Hi C'est Magnifique fans! Dana here today sharing the layouts that I created with the December Kits. I used the Main Kit, Flower Add-On, Embellishment Add-On and Magnifique Mixed Media Kit on each of the layouts that I am sharing today.

(Personal Supplies: Red Envelope, Green Sticker, Snowflake Ornament, Leaves, Distress Ink)

This layout is very special to me. I used the last Christmas card that my Grandmother sent me before she passed as the focal point for this page. I tucked her handwritten greeting inside the red envelope that I placed behind the image.

The variety and textures of the flowers and embellishments in these kits are fantastic and I had a lot of fun combining them on this page.

(Personal Supplies: Doily, Distress Ink)

I kept the design of this layout clean and simple. The products in the kits are absolutely gorgeous and can stand on their own just as they are. The bright red piece of embossed velvet that comes in the Mixed Media Kit is so fun and is a wonderful way to add a vibrant pop of color to a project!

(Personal Supplies: Stencil, Distress Ink, White Mist, Perfect Pearls)

Some of you may remember this layout from the email reveal. If you're not receiving the emails you can remedy that by adding your name to the email list sign-up on the left-hand sidebar.

I absolutely adore this photo of my brother's bulldog. This is her Happy Christmas face! If you like sparkle and shine, you will love the assortment of rhinestones, shimmery paints and sprays and frosty flowers in these kits!

(Personal Supplies: Bloom Girl Stamp, Script Stamp, Distress Ink, Pens, Doily, Small Roses, Snowflake Punch)

For my last layout I had fun with a Prima Bloom Girl Stamp and some photos of my daughters. I'm sorry to say that this stamp IS NOT included in the kit. The gorgeous Blue Fern Studio Chipboard Snowflakes are fantastic and were a custom order made by Deonna specifically for the December Embellishment Add-On. This means that the only way to purchase these beautiful snowflakes is by picking up the Embellishment Add-On from the C'est Magnifique Store. To play up the frosty feel of this page I highlighted the snowflakes on the patterned paper with rhinestones and buttons.

I'll be sharing more in-depth posts about each of these layouts on my personal blog over the next week and I'd love to have you stop by for a visit.

I have really enjoyed playing with this kit. If you are interested in the December Kit or Add-Ons a limited amount of kits are available for purchase from the C'est Magnifique Store while supplies last!

December Magnifique Mixed Media Kit with Riikka Kovasin

Hello there! It's Riikka guesting here again and today I'm sharing you some red creations using the December mixed media kit and the papers! Thank you for this possibility!

I tend not to scrapbook our Christmas as such and as all the photos of last Christmas are made into pages already, I decided to think about Christmas - what makes the season so special and what I love about this holiday and winter all together.

So my first page is about my love for winter. I remember being the odd kid at school declaring winter as her favorite season against multitude of those stating summer as the one. Don't get me wrong - I dislike sleet as any other but when the winter truly comes with snow and crispy temperatures below the zero I enjoy myself tremendously. Here in the north the snow also means light into the darkness. And not to mention all the things you can do when there's snow and ice on the ground!

Even though the subject itself is more of the colder side of the color wheel, I chose to go with the reds to emphasize my love. This photo of me as a kid suited the colors just fine so I used it on the page instead of a more recent one. I also used different red mediums to create the background and then added snowy touches with the chalk. Please watch the video underneath to see how the page came to life!

Besides using the materials form the kit and the papers, I also used some supplies from my stash like a doily, white pen and a background stamp and a doily die.

My other red page using the kit supplies is about the treats and foods of Christmas. The journaling reads something like "Christmas is the time of delicacies". There's cakes, cookies, chocolates but also more salty delicacies like rutabaga casserole and rosolli salad and also homemade cheeses.

I started this page by splashing all the different paints in the kit to the background. There's the red paints, the golden mist and also some flicks of white gesso. Next I added little drops of glue to the background and then poured the micro beads on top. I also used the same pearls to make a piece of paper really textured: I adhered double sided adhesive sheet on a piece of patterned paper from the kit, removed the protective coating and covered the piece with the micro beads. Underneath the photo it seems almost that there's nonpareils!

I also used the piece of felt from the kit in here to juxtapose the different textures and feels. I also used the same felt but the other side of it to make the little bow for decoration. Besides the materials from the kit I also used a bow die, white gesso and a white and black pen in this page.
Thank you for stopping by today! I also have another post coming up with green and white inspirations! I hope you liked what you saw today and are inspired by my projects! Wishing you a crafty day!

Introducing our new Design Team Coordinator, Dana Tatar!

I have a bit of news to share today! I am very excited to have Dana Tatar coming on board to replace me as I step down from C'est Magnfique Kits after the December kit! I have enjoyed my time here and Deonna's beautiful kits, but in the next year I plan to focus on my health and family and will be reducing my design team and coordinating duties.  Dana has a huge resume of impressive companies she has worked with and has coordinated for several of her teams, I am leaving Deonna and C'est Magnfique in very capable hands and for that I am truly grateful!

Here is more about Dana in her own words:

My name is Dana Tatar and I am a stay-at-home mom who likes to play with paper and scissors. I was a biochemist before I decided to stay home full-time with my daughters and my analytical mind is always present when I'm crafting. I really enjoy playing with wet media; mixing things together, heating and drying things out and trying to find creative uses for products. I share several of my favorite "experiments" on the Tutorials Page of my blog, They Call Me Tatar Salad.

I have had many hobbies over the years, but scrapping is the one that really gives me satisfaction. I started scrapbooking to preserve memories after the birth of my first daughter and have grown to love the creative outlet. I love to mix products from different collections on my layouts and I frequently find inspiration in music, poetry and pop culture. I love fussy cutting and flowers and both can be seen on the majority of my layouts. I would say that my dominant scrappy styles are clean and simple and shabby chic, but I do like to mix things up a bit, depending on the paper or photos I want to use. When I'm not scrapping, I enjoy cooking and baking, reading, listening to music and spending time outdoors with my family.

I'm thrilled to be joining the C'est Magnifique Team! Below are some of my favorite layouts that I created with products from the C'est Magnifique Store.

I really hope you will join me in welcoming Dana to the C'est Magnfique team, and wish her well in her new position!!
